Legends of the Mara is an immersive, token-gated, strategy-based game set in Otherside. The game is designed exclusively for owners of at least one Otherdeed and one Oda NFT. The game introduces players to a unique universe that combines resource management and strategic combat in a narrative-driven adventure. Players utilize celestial beings called Oda in two main modes: Camp, for managing resources and defending territories, and Shattered, for engaging in battles against formidable Titans. The game leverages NFTs to enrich the gaming experience, allowing players to hatch, assign, and optimize Oda roles for various tasks and battles, offering a deep strategic layer to gameplay.

Open Beta

The Open Beta phase for Legends of the Mara marks a crucial period where players are invited to experience the game before its official launch. This phase is designed to fine-tune gameplay, balance mechanics, and ensure a seamless integration of NFT assets, offering a glimpse into the future of what the game holds. Open Beta participants play a pivotal role in shaping the final product, providing valuable feedback on the game's mechanics, usability, and overall experience, setting the stage for a polished and engaging official release.

Gameplay Overview

Camp

Camp serves as the home base for players, where their Otherdeed acts as a customizable hub. Players can assign Oda, celestial beings native to Otherside, to their deed. These Oda, including Koda, Mara, and Kodamara, play crucial roles in harvesting resources and defending the camp.

Shattered

In Shattered, players engage in battles against Goliaths to earn loot, enhancing their journey. This mode challenges players to leverage their Oda's abilities strategically to overcome adversaries and secure loot chests.

Requirements to play

To ensure a smooth and engaging gameplay experience, players must meet certain requirements:

Ownership Requirements

• Otherdeed NFT: Players must own an Otherdeed NFT, which serves as the foundational asset for participating in the game. The Otherdeed NFT represents ownership of virtual land within the Otherside universe.

• Oda NFT: In addition to an Otherdeed NFT, players are required to own at least one Oda NFT. Oda are celestial beings that players can utilize within the game for various tasks and battles.

Hardware and Software Requirements

• Compatible Device: A device capable of running web browsers or specific game clients efficiently. This can include PCs, laptops, or tablets with sufficient processing power and graphics capabilities.

• Internet Connection: A stable and reliable internet connection is necessary to ensure seamless gameplay, as "Legends of the Mara" is an online game with real-time interactions and updates.

• Supported Web Browser: The latest version of popular web browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge, ensuring full compatibility with the game's web platform.

Other Requirements

• Game Account: Players must create a game account, linking their digital wallet that holds the required NFTs (Otherdeed and Oda) to authenticate ownership and grant access to the game.

• Understanding of Game Mechanics: While not a strict requirement, having a basic understanding of the game's mechanics, strategies, and NFT integration will greatly enhance the player's experience and success within the game. See the basics guide for help.

Objectives

The objectives of LOTM open beta are simple: hatch Mara, farm sediment fragments, and hunt Shattered for loot.

• If voyagers do not have any Oda, they can hatch Mara by placing their vessels on their Otherdeed playing card in Camp.

• To farm sediment fragments, voyagers can place their Farmer Mara or Koda on their Otherdeed playing card. Once placed, your Oda instantly start farming sediment fragments that are yielded every 24 hours. Voyagers can use Enchanter Mara on their same Otherdeed playing card to increase the rate their Farmer Mara yield sediment fragments.

• To hunt Shattered, voyagers can place their Hunter Mara or Koda on their Otherdeed playing card. Voyagers will need to toggle their Koda's to hunting because Koda's are automatically set to farming. Hunter Mara on the other hand will instantly start dealing damage to the Shattered. Voyagers can use Enchanter Mara to increase the DPS of their Hunter Mara and Kodas.
